Opportunities for Individuals

We have various opportunities for individual volunteers on the build site, on committees, at special events, at our ReStore, and much more. Please see below for more information on how to get involved as an individual.

Get Involved

Construction Build Days

Our build sites are open to volunteers from Thursday to Saturday. No special skills are required. Construction volunteers must be 16 years of age to be present on an active build site. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult, 21 or older. Register to build.

Construction Weekday Crews

Our weekday crews consist of volunteers who are dedicated to helping our construction staff stay on schedule. Whether you are an expert or novice, our Weekday Crews are a great place to begin learning the Habitat construction process and develop specialized skills.

ReStore

From customer service to furniture repair, our ReStore offers volunteer opportunities geared toward individual interests and skills. By giving your time, you can help the Passaic County ReStore do more to support local building projects for those in our community. Learn more.

Committees

PCHFH is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, who is greatly supported by volunteer-led committees. Each committee represents a critical part of our program. Several of our committees include: Resource Development, Finance, Family Services, ReStore, Global Building and Tithe, and Special Events

Habitat Ambassadors

We frequently receive requests to attend community events, set up an information table, and share about our program and volunteer opportunities. Habitat Ambassadors represent Passaic County Habitat at these events to educate the community about what we do, answer questions, and advise on how to support, volunteer, or/and donate to Habitat.

Travel with a Purpose

This is your gateway to serving with Habitat for Humanity around the world, as well as in the United States. Join a trip and take your next step to make the world a better place. We will provide you with a meaningful construction project, like-minded teammates, access to the local culture, and excellent support. Learn more.

Faith Relations

Help us make important connections with our local faith communities. If you are a member of a faith community we would love your help reaching your fellow members and your leadership. What a wonderful answer to the question “Who is my neighbor?”

Photography/Videography

Volunteers are needed to help capture build activities, as well as cover some of our special events. This is a wonderful opportunity for a photography student looking to build his or her portfolio, or for experienced photographers who are willing to share their time and talents.
