There are many ways to volunteer your time to the work of Paterson Habitat – and each is important to the success of our organization.

Hands-on

Construction Volunteer

As a construction volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of phases of construction – framing walls, installing insulation, hanging drywall, laying down hardwood floor and tiling, painting the interiors, putting up trim and doing finish work. We are looking for individuals with or without construction skills; however, all volunteers must be 16 or older.  Click here for more information.

Behind the Scene

ReStore Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to the ReStore. It is through the efforts of volunteers that we are able to progress steadily toward our mission of providing revenue for Habitat homes while diverting waste from landfills. Office Volunteer

We have a variety of office tasks and projects where we welcome volunteer help.  These tasks include clerical duties, answering phones, data entry, etc.

Committees

Paterson Habitat has a variety of committee opportunities that help in every aspect of our organization. Joining a committee is a great way to help your community while networking with local professionals and gaining valuable leadership skills.  Committees typically meet once a month for about an hour.  Some committees meet quarterly or as needed. Currently, we have six committees that are always looking for new members.

Finance Committee

Responsible for policy review, revisions of financial procedures.

Family Selection Committee

Successful homeownership is our goal.  We are also looking for Financial Mentors.

Special Events Committee

If you like planning events, there are plenty to keep you interested throughout the year.  Women Build, Annual Dinner, Kids Kamp and Hammering 4 Habitat to name a few.

Faith Relations Committee

Faith minded volunteers who would be interested in helping us engage other congregations.

Advocacy Team

Become a political guru and guide our legislators toward affordable  housing.  Be part of the "A-Team" which meets weekdays every 6-8 weeks or participate via internet.

Tithing Advisory Team
